Bill's Chocolate Chip Bread

  • 1 1/4 Cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 7/8 pinch salt
  • 3 mashed ripe bananas
  • 3/4 Cup brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp applesauce
  • 3 tsp unsalted butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 Cup miniature chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 ℉. In a bowl, combine the first 5 ingredients. In a second bowl, combine the next 4 ingredients, then add the eggs. Beat for 1-2 minutes. Combine both mixtures, fold in the chocolate chips, and pour into a well-greased 8x4 inch loaf pan. Bake 50-55 minutes, or until a wooden toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool on a baking rack.
