Pie Dough: Making V-Shaped Edges

When making homemade pie dough, to make a V-shaped edge: using the flat side of the tip of a sharp paring knife, press lightly all the way round the edge of the pie crust. This not only creates a decorative rim, but seals the edges together as well. Source: The Book of Quiches and Savory Pies
